This text is the supplement to the ninth edition of "Gatley on Libel and Slander", which aims to be the leading text on defamation, containing definitive coverage of the substantive law of defamation, practice and procedure, remedies and a wealth of key case law. The ninth edition has been substantially rewritten to cover case law and important legislation including the Defamation Act 1996. It also explores the implications of the "guarantee of freedom of speech" in the European Convention on Human Rights and considers key decisions on defamation made elsewhere in the Commonwealth.
