Preface Gender is one of the most widely discussed topics at the national and international platforms. The paradigm shifts in conceptualiing development beginning from equating development with economic prosperity and moving on to the quality of life and finally ending up with gender equality have contributed to the Global realization, that the gender justice is an essential condition for the women development in all the ways. According to the former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, "Gender equality is more than a Goal, in itself. It is a precondition for meeting the challenges of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building Good governance". The marginalization of women who constitute 50 percent of the world population results in the non-utilization of 50 percent .of the Human Resource investment in production and thereby their development to their Nations. The term "Gender', connotes the power difference, between the men and women in all spheres of life. Gender is the most pervasive form of the inequality, as it operates across all classes, castes and communities. The discrimination and the Gender bias existing in the society, deny the girls and women and their due share in decision- making, even in their personal lives. The power imbalance is noticeable in all the spheres of life including the Nutrition and Health Care, Education especially in the Professional education, Employment, Property rights, Political leadership etc. The UN Statistics say that the women do nmore than men, in which, the sixty percent of the hours of work done in the whole world. Unfortunately, they get only ten percent of the world's income and they own only one percent of the total world's property. This itself clearly reveals that the gender discrimination still exists globally...
