The environmental issues are being studied by ever- increasing number of disciplines, institutions and individuals. there is definitely a great challenge for geographers in the fast changing scenario. how far the basic tenets of geography remain meaningful is a vital question. the concept of space or spatial patterns and role as Integration Science have to be re- evaluated. with the developments in several disciplines lately studying environment, the spatial integration of their finding has become essential. the papers, contributed in these three volumes highlight the issues related to environment at three levels and their interrelationship. the focus is to study such relationship with the given framework, but linkages to other levels cannot necessarily be avoided. the overall objective of this set remains to evaluate the role of spatial levels in studying environmental issues. About the Author Dr. Nag has been author of nearly hundred research papers and several publications. His latest books are Population, Settlement and Development in Zambia, Geography of India and Digital Remote Sensing. He has been UN consultant in Census Cartography in Oman. At present he is the Director of the National Atlas & Thematic Mapping Organisation, Calcutta.
