The book is a useful and stimulating introduction to global governance. Looking at a diverse range of areas it offers an account of the origins and institutions of global governance as well as putting forward an argument for specific reforms. The new edition covers a number of topics to bring it up to date including: the legal, economic and political roots of the 2008 global financial crisis; the looming failure of the Doha Multilateral Trade Negotiations; the pressure for soft and hard law regulation of the global private sector; and recent international peace, security and human rights crises. The first edition proved to be sucessful and this edition should build on this by making the book available to individuals and as supplementary reading for courses on global governance in international law, politics, international relations and economics.
