About Rangaswami Parthasarathy Rangaswami Parthasarathy obtained his masters from the reputed Madras University. He began his career as a journalist in the year 1936, as an apprentice in the Madras Mail, and eventually rising to the position of Subeditor. He joined The Hindu in the year 1944 and later became the Chief Subeditor and New Editor and served for 12 long years. He was entrusted with the task of compiling the biography of The Hindu to mark its Centenary celebration. The book, 100 years of The Hindu, was thus released in the year 1978 by the then president N. Sanjeeva Reddi. Rangaswami retired in the year 1979 as the Senior Assistant Editor. He has authored three books on journalism: Memoirs of a New Editor, Living with The Hindu for 30 years, and Basic Journalism.
