Seed Treatment – Dip the seeds in the solution of Hasiru Panchagavya (1 L Panchagavya mixed with 30 – 35 L water) for 15 minutes and lay the seeds on a plastic sheet for drying. Once the seeds are dried the seeds can be subsequently planted. How to plant – Plant the treated seeds in a small container filled with Hasiru Potting Mix to about ½ to 1 inch depth and sprinkle water cautiously. Once the seeds germinate and the saplings are about 6 to 8 inch tall, plant the saplings in the desired area. Bitter Gourd is a climbing plant and hence the vine requires adequate support system / Trellis. Germination Time – 6 to 8 days from Sowing. Spacing – 1 ½ feet between plants. Watering – Plants should be watered daily preferably during early mornings which accelerate the process of photosynthesis resulting in faster growth. Manure – Apply Hasiru Garden Manure / Neem based manure thrice a year. When to plant – July and August (Also in February, if there is sufficient water).
