The massive nationwide support to the anti-corruption movement by Anna Hazare, the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party, and its subsequent stunning debut in the Delhi Assembly elections, have taken everyone by surprise. What was till now termed as a largely urban middle class phenomenon as successful in galvanizing even the urban poor and the scheduled caste population in the city, much to the surprise of politicians from Left, Right and Centre. This collection of short poems written in the genre of classical Japanese poems, Haiku and Tanka, by Manu Kant captures succinctly the mood and emergence of what is called by the media as Common People?s Revolution. ABOUT THE AUTHOR - Manu Kant was born in Patiala, Punjab but brought up in Chandigarh. He did his post-graduation in journalism from the prestigious Moscow State University, Moscow in 1993. He as a freelance journalist and his articles have appeared in The Tribune, The Indian Express and Pioneer. He is the only known communist poet in the world writing Haiku.
