This series Growing with Values (Classes 1 to 8) promotes values and teaches children life skills required to lead a meaningful life. The series focuses on providing an opportunity to children to experience values and practise life skills rather than learn theoretical aspects of life by rote. Salient Features: 1. Children get to read stories and poems, take part in activities, play games and improve their general knowledge through this series. 2. The Chapters begin with a For the Teacher page (Classes 3 to 5) where the teachers and parents are provided guidance on how to deal with the chapter. 3. In the Student's section, children read stories in Read A Story (Classes 1 and 2) and in other reading sections (Classes 3 to 8) and poems in Sing a Song (Classes 1 and 2) to understand moral values and life skills. 4. The questions given at the end of each chapter help the children to discuss and reflect on the topic. 5. Learn through Activity contains questions, games, crosswords, quizzes, situational tests, etc., for better understanding of the topic 6. Do it Yourself section (Classes 1 and 2) allows the children to express their newly-acquired knowledge. The focus of this series is to learn through involvement and interactivity. It includes the values as recommended by the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. This series will undoubtedly prove to be of great value to young learners.
