The fourth installment to the Department Q Scandanavian crime thrillers, Guilt tells the tale of a cold case which has been reopening often over a period of 20 years. Summary of the Book When Detective Carl Mørck looks into the disappearance of Rita Nielsen, an escort agency owner, he discovers that this disappearance is only one part of the puzzle, and the puzzle is a very cold case that even his division refuses to tackle. In a chase that finds Carl hunting a killer working over a period of 20 years, the Cold Case Detective finds that the nightmare is only beginning, just as it had for Nete Rosen long ago when a man from her past reappeared to wreak havoc. Nete had decided to not be the victim again, and terror followed. Carl must solve the case soon before more victims start piling up.
