Guitar for Dummies, published by Wiley, is a comprehensive book for guitarists of all levels. Summary of the Book From simple chords and melodies to exercises intended for players at all levels, Guitar for Dummies, continues to provide tips to be adept at playing this versatile instrument across multiple genres and styles, be it those who play acoustic or electric. This 3rd edition contains revised content, photos, sample songs and the most modern progresses in guitars and guitar accessories, along with updated multimedia and video instructions on the basics. Play-through for some of the complete pieces is also included in the book. Tuning, changing strings and making simple repairs, and expanding range with songs using special techniques are the other concepts discussed. About the Authors Mark Phillips is a guitarist, arranger, author and editor, with over thirty years of experience in music publishing. He is the Director of Music at Cherry Lane Music. He has edited (or arranged) songbooks of artists like John Denver, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, and Metallica. Jon Chappell is a multi-style guitarist, arranger and former editor-in-chief of the magazine, Guitar. Apart from the current title, Phillips and Chappell have together compiled: Guitar Exercises for Dummies, Classical Guitar for Dummies, Rock Guitar for Dummies, and Blues Guitar for Dummies.
