Gulliver’s Travels is a classic adventure novel by Jonathan Swift. Summary of the Book Lemuel Gulliver was a born wanderer. He loved travelling around the world and finding new places. What he did not expect to find were places which could boggle his mind. His travels bring him to places of magic and wonder, places such as Lilliput, where the people are so tiny that they seem little more than insects. Then he travels to Brobdingnag, where he himself appears an insect before the giants that inhabit the place. Escaping from the giants, he continues his travels and finds more enchanting places in the world. An allegorical parody of traveller’s tales, Jonathan Swift’s novel is a story of comedy and a satire on the spirit of adventure.
