Gulliver’s Travels led him to the ends of the Earth. Join him in this novel of adventure by Jonathan Swift. This academic version brings students extensive notes to understand the themes and characterization in the novel. Summary of the Book Lemuel Gulliver was a natural born wanderer. He travelled widely and loved to do so. His travels bring him to places of magic and wonder, places such as Lilliput, where the people are so tiny that they seem little more than insects. Then he journeys to Brobdingnag, where he himself appears an insect before the giants that inhabit the place. He continues his journey, encountering the magic and wonder of all the world through them. His adventures are considered an allegorical parody of travellers’ tales, and helps readers laugh at the absurdity of human nature.
