Franklin W. Dixon's Hardy Boys Undercover Brothers: Haunted is a collection of ghost stories. Summary of the Book Frank and Joe Hardy love a good mystery. However, they know for a fact that there’s no such thing as ghosts. But in this collection of spooky stories, they might just realize otherwise. They are tasked with investigating the Undercliff House of Detention, a former asylum from the 1800s. They discover that the detention center is the center of a series of paranormal reports: many inmates seem to die from pure terror. What seems to be causing these macabre murders? Surely there isn't a real supernatural force involved! Only the Hardy Boys can find the answers. About Franklin W. Dixon Franklin W. Dixon is the pseudonym of several writers, all of them ghostwriting the Hardy Boys series of stories. The name was first used by a Canadian writer called Leslie McFarlane. The rights to the name and the books are owned by Simon & Schuster, a publishing house based in New York. The Hardy Boys were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate, a book-packaging firm.
