Technically a masterpiece, "Hay Fever" was first released in 1925. A comedy of ill manners opens with the arrival of four visitors who were each individually invited by various Bliss family members to spend the weekend at their country home outside of Maidenhead. The self-absorbed idiosyncrasies of the family swiftly sabotage the promise of a beautiful and tranquil weekend, leaving the visitors to slink away humiliated, embarrassed, and abandoned.
