The Government in their Plan for Growth attach great importance to education and hi-tech industry in order to create jobs and prosperity. The jobs of the future will increasingly require people with the capabilities and skills that Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) education provides. In the Government's planning for industrial growth, technical education is described as “the foundation of economic success”. The Government further stated that “our economy needs to become much more dynamic…and retooled for a high-tech future, if we are going to create the jobs and prosperity we need for the next generation”. FICCI, from time to time, reminded the Government that the workforce of the future will increasingly require higher-level skills as structural adjustments in the economy force businesses to move up the development chain. These jobs of the future will increasingly require people with the capabilities that a STEM qualification provides”. The book highlights all these aspects which every administrator, student, researcher needs to learn for the better education and future development.
