About The Author: Dayaram Gidumal Shahani (1857–1927), also known as Rishi Dayaram, was an Indian social reformer, poet, judge, and scholar. Born in Hyderabad, Sindh, he was educated in Persian and later at Elphinstone College, Bombay. He served as Judicial Commissioner in Sindh but declined a High Court Judge position. A staunch advocate for women's education, Dayaram contributed to the founding of D.J. Sindh College in Karachi and Seva Sadan. He was a scholar of Arabic, Persian, and Sanskrit, and authored works in both Sindhi and English, including The History of a Humble Soul and Something about Sindh.
