About The Author: Colonel Mark Wilks FRS (1759–1831) was a military officer, historian, and administrator of the East India Company from the Isle of Man. He primarily served in the princely state of Mysore in southern India and held the position of acting Resident at the Wodeyar Court. Among his notable literary contributions are various historical works, including the "Report on the Internal Administration of Mysore." This report served as a continuation of a survey conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Colin Mackenzie on the Kingdom of Mysore.
