The book (in two volumes) studies the Western or European political thought and its development from its beginning in the speculations of the early Greeks. The study has been confined to leading Western thinkers and the contribution of each of them to the growth of political ideas. The book covers detailed study of socialism and democratic socialism with all its forms such as Fabian socialism and symbolism. Communism based on Marxist thinking has been reinterpreted, molded, and amended by Lenin and Stalin in Russia and by Mao Tse-tung in China.
