The Holy Science stresses the underlying unity of all religions, their universal message. The author highlights certain passages from Christian and Hindu scriptures to show this unity. Summary Of The Book The Holy Science emphasizes that the message of all religions is the same, they all urge their followers towards the same goal. This book was written with the aim of putting an end to the conflict between different creeds, to show that all faiths preach the same truth. The author quotes passages from the New Testament, especially the Revelations section, and also from Hindu scriptures to highlight similarities in the views and ideas of these two faiths. The book is divided into four parts, The Gospel, The Goal, The Procedure and The Revelation. The author states that these sections have been arranged in the manner that aids in understanding the underlying idea effectively. The Gospel defines the fundamental facts of creation. It explains the evolution of the world. The Goal defines the ultimate destiny of all creatures. In this, the author shows that the goal of all creatures is to realize existence, consciousness and bliss. The Procedure explains the way the ultimate goal of enlightenment can be achieved by all human beings. The Revelation examines the realizations that come to all those who have traveled far on the path to their goal. The Holy Science also proposes a revolutionary idea. It says that the world is now actually in the Dwapara Yuga, contrary to popular belief that it is in the Kali Yuga or dark age. The author explains the cyclical time as defined by the Hindu scriptures and explains the concept of the four Yugas, Kriya, Treta, Dwapara and Kali Yuga. According to Hindu calendar, the world is now said to be in the beginning stages of the last era, the Kali Yuga. After this, the world will go back to the first age, the golden age of Kriya Yuga. But, Sri Yukteswar says that this is wrong. He says that the world is now actually in Dwapara Yuga, the third era in the four Yugas. This book thus deals with a wide range of spiritual matters. It emphasizes the unity of all faiths, it shows that the destiny of all creatures is to attain the same ultimate truth. It defines the path to achieve this goal and the revelations that come to those who are getting close to the goal.  About Swami Sri Yukteswar Swami Sri Yukteswar is the name assumed by Priyanath Karar, when he became a sanyasi or monk.
