I Am Pilgrim is a thriller novel by Terry Hayes. Summary of the Book He doesn’t exist. The adopted son of a wealthy American family and the former head of a secretive American espionage unit, he disappeared seeking an anonymous retirement. He is known as Pilgrim and he is the foremost authority on forensic criminal investigation there is. His past will not let him disappear, for a young NYPD detective named Ben Bradley uses a book Pilgrim once wrote to track him down. Now, the man must help uncover the macabre murder of a woman found lying in a pool of acid in a rundown NY hotel room. Her facial features are erased, her fingerprints are gone and her teeth are missing. Almost straight out of Pilgrim’s book, the murder is unnerving. It points to a faceless man who will kill for his God. It points to his journey from a public beheading in Mecca to a Nazi death camp in Alsace and to the barren wilderness of the Hindu Kush. If Pilgrim cannot find this man, then more lives may be at stake. About Terry Hayes Terry Hayes is an English writer best associated with the Sydney Morning Herald.
