This is a new trend among the “Vaastu” and Feng shui consultants. They have started advising the people to not keep the idols of Durga, Kali, or even Natraj, or Nrisimha, in the homes. They advise people to drop these idols in the nearest temples, and not turn to look back at them. They state that these Gods and Goddesses are fierce, and in a mood of war. Hence these harm the people of the house, and these people always remain in a state of conflict and mental state of war, if such idols are kept at house. This is a new way for them to mint money and proclaim their knowledge. These experts of Vaastu, proclaim that the knowledge of Vaastu is ancient, But there is no mention of these things in any ancient text. The Vedic God, the “Vastoshpati”, has nothing to do with the nuances and superstitions of these people. But the modern art of Vaastu is full of all of the superstitions.
