IGCSE Mathematics offers comprehensive coverage of the new syllabus as prescribed by the University of Cambridge. Summary Of The Book The IGCSE or International General Certificate of Secondary Education is a globally recognised qualification for high school students. It was developed in 1985 by the University of Cambridge International Examinations. IGCSE Mathematics is a concise textbook that encompasses the new IGCSE syllabus and is useful for students who follow the Extended Curriculum (up to Grade A). In a systematic order, the book covers Number, Shape, Algebra, Statistics, Probability, and Space. The first section on Number covers topics like Ordering, Limits of Accuracy, Standard Form, Ratio, Proportion, Measures of Rate, Estimation, The Four Rules, Set Notation and Language, and Percentages. The next section on Algebra covers Indices, Graphs in Practical Situations, Equation, Inequalities, Straight Line Graphs, Graphs of Functions, Algebraic Representation, Manipulation, Functions, and Linear Programming. The Core Section revises the material that is already studied, whereas the Extended Section introduces new subject matter. Based on Papers 1-4 of the IGCSE Exam, each of the Core Sections comprises 2 short-answer Assessments, and the Extended Section has 2 structured question Assessments and 2 short-answer questions.
