On one hand, scientific progress has made life more convenient; on the other, it has also brought disintegration in social relationships, erosion of human values, and a rise in materialistic tendencies.Poetry has always been the heartbeat of society. While the poetry of the 20th century echoed the call for freedom, social justice, and human dignity, the poetry of the 21st century engages with new realities. Prominent themes include urbanization, migrant life, environmental crisis, women’s identity, Dalit consciousness, technological culture, and global inequality.Today’s poet deeply feels the realities of social contradictions, family disintegration, caste and gender discrimination, communalism, and unemployment, and expresses them in poetry. At the same time, poetry also reflects hope, the desire for change, and the quest for a better society.Thus, the poetry of the 21st century is not merely an emotional expression but an artistic document of the challenges, problems, and possibilities of our changing society—one that inspires readers to reflect and introspect."
