Industrial development leads to urbanization by creating job opportunities and economicgrowth. The spatial structure of the cities is changing with the development of industries. Theemphasis industrial production promoted the demographic change. While smart cities may ormay not find solutions to the issues of urbanization in India, they have already left behind amajor chunk of its population: the poor and marginalized lays the doubly peripheral andignored section of seasonal migrants. Poor access to infrastructure, results in very pooroccupational living conditions. This affects their employment opportunities, as well as the loss of wages.
