The content of the book discusses Secondary Victimisation experienced by the Wrongfully Convicted in India. It primarily focuses on one of the kinds of secondary victimization, i.e., the Stigmatization of a victim of a wrongful conviction. It talks about the various levels of stigmatization one has to go through after its acquittal. It takes a gander on the notions of ‘Baizzat Bari’ and ‘Innocent until Proven Guilty. It seeks to study the issues of wrongful conviction with the help of a few judgments passed by hon’ble courts in India that discusses inefficiencies of the institution of the investigating authority and the preliminary court, leading to the wrongful prosecution and thereafter, the wrongful conviction of the accused.
