It discusses our country’s rise from the terror of poverty to becoming a flourishing country with many clashes in ideas that have occurred along the way. He shows us how the policies that India had made after 1947 had condemned the nation to a stumbling economy until the year 1991. After this, the government had made changes that made way for India to experience growth of unexpected heights. Das has traced all of these developments and weaved a record with contemporary history. India Unbound is the perfect book for those who want a detailed introduction to contemporary India and comes with a new afterword that updates it to 2007. About Gurcharan Das Gurcharan Das is the former CEO of Procter & Gamble in India and a writer. He is a venture capitalist and consultant. He is also a columnist for the Times of India and lives in New Delhi. He graduated from Harvard University.
