Dr. Kashyap's Indian Constitution: Conflicts and Controversies is a book on Indian politics and reveals the issues which came to light during the framing of the constitution of the largest democracy of the world. Kashyap is an Indian political scientist, constitutional expert and distinguished scholar. He was a former Secretary-General of the 7th through 9th Lok Sabhas and the Lok Sabha Secretariat from 1980 to 1990. Also the head of the International Centre for Parliamentary Documentation, IPU at Geneva till 1983, Dr. Kashyap published several articles and books, some of which are: Jawaharlal Nehru and the Constitution, Politics of Power, Tryst with Freedom, Parliament of India: Myths and Realities and History of the Freedom Movement.
