This book on Indian Drama in English is a yeoman service to the criticism of drama in Indian as it is the least treaded are of Indian literature in English. It comprises critical materials on both original plays in English and on translations from the regional languages. It covers both well known playwrights and their plays rediscovers the hidden gems. It consists of twenty two well researched, comprehensive and scholarly papers by the writers of repute. It includes papers on the dramatic are of Girish Karnad, Mahesh Dattani, social realism of Rama Sarma's plays and on the formal aspects of Asif Currimbhoy and B. Ahmed. Other papers are the critical evaluation of the plays. They are Tagore's Red Oleanders, The Post Office, Karnad's Naga-Mandala, Tale Danda, Tughlaq, Aurobindo's Vasavadutta, Mohan Rakesh's Halfway House, Mad Delight, Vijay Tendulkar's Ghasiram Kotwal, G.V. We hope that the book would be welcomed by the readers of Indian drama in English. About the Author Dr. Chhote Lal Khatro, born in 1965 in Jehanabad, Bihar. He is well known poet, critic and editor of Cyber Literature. He has authored several books and has been awarded Michael Madhusudan Academy award for his poetry collection Kargil, in 2002. Currently he is a Sr. lecturer in the Dept. of English, T.P.S. College, Patna. Dr. Kumar Chandradeep,born in 1967 at Madhepura (Bihar) has got a brilliant academic career. He has been awarded "University Gold Medal" and "Raj Sir Raghunandan Gold Medal" for standard first class first at M.A. (English) examination. He did his Ph.D. in English from Patna University in 1995. he has been awarded "Michael Madhusudan Academy Award" in 2002. He in an Executive director of Cyber Literature, Patna. His papers and poems are widely published and anthologised. He has authored a book of criticism Walter de la Mare : Poetry and Novels : An Evaluation in collaboration with Dr. C.L. Khatri. His poetry collection in English Individual Mirage and one in Hindi Kashish are in press. Currently he is teaching English Literature at College of Commerce, Patna.
