Economics commands universal interest. But many people are `scared' of the subject. The reason is that most of the time, the subject is not communicated in simple language. It is presented as a technical discipline with lots of formulae and statistics. In fact that is the way most examinations want the knowledge of economics to be. Civil Services General Studies, however, is delightfully different. The exam wants economics to be understood from basics up. Fundamentals are the focus in this examination and conceptual clarity is everything.
