About Dan Brown Dan Brown is an American writer best known for his thriller novels, especially those starring Robert Langdon. The previous books in this series are: Angels and Demons, Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol. Inferno has been optioned by Sony Pictures as a major motion picture, scheduled for release in December 2015, with Ron Howard as the Director and Tom Hanks reprising his role as the lead from the earlier films.
