OUR TIME HONORED PROCESS The YD Designs Viking tankard is, of course, fashioned from real ox and cow horn, ethically sourced from produce farms in which animals are harvested for their meat. The highest quality horns are selected from amongst thousands of potentials. Horns are never taken from live animals and the animals are NEVER harmed. Our craftsmen closely follow the traditional techniques, when it comes to crafting the perfect horn mug. Only small improvements have been added to the original techniques. Each horn is then carefully cut to size, cored, hand-polished and custom fitted with a solid rosewood base.
