The present book is based on the syllabus formulated by the Curriculum Development Committee of the UGC. As there is no text book available covering all the topics prescribed in the syllabus the present book embodies a Concise account of the fundamental aspects of plant cell and tissue culture recombinant DNA technology and applications of biotechnology in medicine human health agriculture and industry. We hope that this book would provide basic information to the students on varied aspects of biotechnology.
