Inventing Women provides a thorough examination of how `science' and `technology' have contributed to the construction of a gendered social world, and to the definitions of `woman' and `female'. The authors focus on a variety of topics including sex and reproduction; technological constructs in domestic lives; and science and technology in work, education and training. Also considered, among other issues, are women in relation to military technology and the effect of technology on women in developing countries.
