About the Author ;- Catherine Craft is an art historian specialising in modern and contemporary art. She earned her PhD from the University of Texas, Austin with a dissertation on the New York art world between 1951 and 1965. She is author of the forthcoming book An Audience of Artists: Dada, Neo-Dada, and the Emergence of Abstract Expressionism, 1945-1953 and has published numerous articles on Johns, Rauschenberg, Duchamp, Pollock, and other artists in such prestigious reviews as The Burlington Magazine. She has also lectured at important museums, including The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. She currently lives between Texas and Germany, where she works as an independent scholar.
