Java Persistence With Hibernate by Christian Bauer and Gavin King is an edited version of the bestselling book Hibernate In Action written by Manning. This book covers features like the Hibernate 3.2, EJB 3.0 and Java Persistence 1.0. It also features JBoss Seam, the Java EE framework, which is developed using EJB 3.0. The authors give a comprehensive coverage of Javaserver Faces and Hibernate. The book has been divided into three parts. The first part of the book introduces the fundamentals of Hibernate and EJB 3.0 and explains the concept of Object and Relational Persistence, Domain Models and Metadata along with the ways of commencing a project. The second part deals with Mapping Concepts and Strategies, which includes Mapping Persistent Classes, Inheritance and Customs, Mapping Collections, Entity Associations, Legacy Databases, and Custom SQL.
