William Shakespeare tells the story of a man who was betrayed by his closest allies in an act of contempt for his goals. This book presents an edited version of Julius Caesar. Summary of the Book Marcus Brutus is confused. On one hand, he trusts his friend and ally, Julius Caesar. However, not even he can ignore the tell-tale signs that Caesar’s intentions for Rome might not be too far from outright totalitarianism. He is convinced by the words of Caius Cassius, just as the rest of the Senate. They begin to hatch a terrible plan, one to see the end of Caesar once and for all. However, Julius Caesar hears of rumours of an assassination attempt from a soothsayer. Can he do anything in time to stop these men from carrying out their diabolical plan? This play is based on the true events behind the assassination of Julius Caesar. About William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and writer. Best remembered for his plays, he is called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". Shakespeare's plays have been adapted into several movies, and they are enacted in theatres around the world even to this day, centuries after his death. His works came to the spotlight in the Nineteenth century and he was idolized by the Romantics. A prolific writer and poet, he is also known for his poems, mainly the Sonnets.
