It is an autobiography of Moulana Md. Thaneshwari. Moulana was imprisoned in Kalapani (Andaman and Nicobar Island) as a punishment for betrayal against the British. After the imprisonment of twenty years, he was freed in 1866.The book is not a complete autobiography because it is the first book which presents the life of a prisoner on Kalapani written by self experienced Moulana Md. Jafar Thaneshwari. The book also helps us to know the political and historical aspects of the mutiny of 1857. The book is one of the earliest autobiographies in Urdu literature.
