He completed his higher education in culinary sciences from Cornell University, New York University, the Culinary Institute of America and at the Cordon Bleu in Paris. Some of the other books authored by him include Modern Indian Cooking, Flavors First, and My Great India Cookbook. He also made an attempt to explore the spirituality of food through his documentary 'Holy Kitchens'. Vikas was honored with the Michelin Star Award for his restaurant Junoon. He has appeared on several cooking shows on television like Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and as the host and judge of MasterChef India (season 2), Season 3 and Masterchef Junior.
