Khushwant Singh's Joke Book 8 is a collection of jokes written by Khushwant Singh. The book is the eighth one in his series of joke books. The book is characteristic of Khushwant Singh’s inimitable witty style and filled with illustrations. In the book’s preface, the author expresses that we Indians are so funny that we do not know to laugh and have to be taught to laugh. He says that laughter is the elixir of life and the best tonic in the world to ensure that we lead a good and happy life. Khushwant Singh, one of India’s best known writers, is an eminent journalist and novelist. His other books include The Company of Women, Malicious Gossip, Gods and Godmen of India, The Sikhs, Book Of Unforgettable Women, Burial At Sea, Sahibs Who Loved India, My Bleeding Punjab PB, Train to Pakistan, Delhi: A Novel, The Portrait of a Lady: Collected Stories, and The Sunset Club. He was the editor of the Illustrated Weekly of India, The National Herald, Hindustan Times, and founder-editor of Yojana. Several newspapers carry his widely read column- With Malice Towards One and All. He was the member of the Rajya Sabha in the years 1980-1986. Singh was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award in India, in 2007.
