Oliver Twist is the story about the adventures of a young orphan who flees to London in search of better fortune. Summary of the Book Oliver Twist was a poor young boy who was orphaned at birth. He lived in a workhouse with other orphans who would be beaten and poorly fed. When he asks for a second share of food one day, he is thrown out of the workhouse. They ensure that someone keeps a watchful eye on Oliver when he is sent out to pickpocket. However, he is taken in by the Maylies family when they find him robbing their house. Unfortunately for Oliver, his happiness is again intruded by members of the gang. Will he find a way to escape them and live a happy life?
