The book is a modest attempt at acquainting the language teacher with approaches to and practices in tackling the diversity of the Indian classroom. It also offers the teacher thematic explorations of literary texts, and through them, a glimpse into the conceptual frameworks. A broad range of literary texts / authors are touched upon to serve the wider interests of teachers and scholars. One of the topics of current concern and useful in the context of a large group of teachers primarily trained in literature is literature in the language classroom. The collection thus addresses the needs of the language teacher and the teacher using literary texts in the classroom and in his research.
