Death Over Dinner is a global organization that helps people to sit down, break bread-and talk about death: what is a good death, what one wants, expect, fears, etc. Let's Talk About Death by its founder was inspired by the movement , but it takes the point of view that you do not need to have a meal or even gather a group of people together to talk about death. It's open to us all, all the time. It takes just three things, and explores each in turn: Permission: We need to understand why talking about death is so stigmatized so that we feel liberated to not only take the conversation back, but to embrace it as a source of great potential growth. An invitation: We need to understand how to ask others to talk about death with us, be it a group of strangers at a death dinner or an ailing parent. Guidance: There's no one right way to talk about death, but there are time-tested prompts to use as conversation starters, to add levity when it's needed, and to keep a dialogue running smoothly.
