On the basis of intimations received from certain Himalayan Masters on the Astral plane, Mrs. Annie Besant, President of the Theosophical Society, announced in 1909 that a young boy of thirteen years, named Jiddu Krishnamurti shall become the vehicle of the World Teacher to give a new interpretation to religion for the Age of Reason. The prophecy came true and in 1925 she asked Krishnamurti to take charge of education since he was the World Teacher. In 1926, Krishnamurti acquired a large tract of land in Andhra, near Madanpalle, to start the Rishi Valley School. In 1928 he asked Sanjiva Rao to buy 400 acres of land in Kashi, on the banks of the Ganga for the establishment of the Rajghat Besant School. This book is a record of the struggle Sanjiva Rao went through to acquire the land in Kashi from the British Government and start a Krishnamurti school in 1934. Rabindranath Tagore from Shantiniketan came and inaugurated the school in December, 1934.In these letters written to a young friend in the Aurobindo Ashram, Sanjiva Rao describes the difficulties that arose when Krishnamurti left the Theosophical Society in 1933. It is a saga of a man of great inner strength and character, devoted to both Mrs. Besant and J. Krishnamurti.
