This is the story of a journey of Siddharth and his parents as they fought through Siddharth’s multiple life endangering and debilitating hardships since his birth. The journey was not exactly a pleasant one. The fight was on many battlefronts- medical, educational, physical, psychological, social, personal and it was a see-saw of hope and despair, joy and grief, euphoria and gloom. Jigsaw puzzles, introduced to Siddharth as a therapy, became a passion in which he excelled and that gave him a distinct identity. For Siddharth’s parents, jigsaw puzzles became a metaphor for life and the journey a tutor on the purport of life. This book is a frank and personal conversation where Siddharth’s parents take you through this journey, share their good and bad experiences, things that they learnt, knowingly or unknowingly, and what they could and could not achieve. It is a note of hope and positivity against the vicissitudes and frailties of existence. “I make no pretence of saying that what I did or said is right or is the gospel truth nor do I want to prescribe any course of action to you. Certainly, I wish to neither capitalize nor garner sympathies for what we went through. But if this story inspires someone, keeps their hopes alive or, wittingly or unwittingly, helps you relate to the jigsaw puzzle in your life, helps you fit its piece or two then I would consider this worth the effort. Each one of you are anyway solving your own puzzle in your own way.”
