It is a gripping story about a few pivotal years in the protagonist's life. The story revolves around Annie, a woman in her twenties with a past that haunts her like a nightmare. As she matures from adolescence to a woman in her mid-20s, she encounters various situations, has affairs with a couple of guys, and is hampered by her parent's refusal to accept her situation. Annie develops bipolar disorder at one point in her life as a result of her life's constant upheavals. Annie's struggles, determination, decisions, and faith in herself are central to the plot. The book beautifully describes how she learns about her bipolar disorder, how she decides to help herself, and how she battles these issues.
