In this biography of the Buddha, the author has referred to source works, and translated them from the Pali scriptures. The book starts with the story of Sumedha, a list of former Buddhas, and the characteristics of a future Buddha; it then proceeds chronologically through the life of the Buddha, to describe his birth, early life, retirement, struggle, enlightenment, events thereafter, conversion of Sariputta and Moggallana, Buddha’s daily habits, and finally his death.
