The novel Like Water For Chocolate: A Novel In Monthly Installments With Recipes, Romances, and Home Remedies is the debut publication of the author. It contains an engrossing documentary of the life of Tita, who is a young girl who desires to get married to her lover, Pedro. However, due to Mexican tradition, Tita, being the youngest girl in the house is forced not to marry, but look after her mother till she passes away. As a result of that, Pedro gets married to Tita’s sister Rosaura, with the sole intent of being around Tita. The book gives a series of events that eventually lead to their reunion. This book contains twelve parts, starting from January to December. Each part of the novel begins with a recipe and links it to an occurrence in the life of the lead character. The author of this book Laura Esquivel is a renowned figure, acclaimed for her immense contribution to the field of Latin-American publications. Some of the notable publications of the author include Swift As Desire, The Law Of Love, and Malinche. The author was born on the 30th of September 1950, and currently resides in Mexico City.
