Little, Big, also known as The Fairies' Parliament, is a contemporary fantasy novel written by John Crowley. It won the prestigious World Fantasy Award in the year 1982 and has been referred to as “a neglected masterpiece”. The novel depicts the epic story of the Drinkwater family and their relationship with the mysterious world of Fairy. Summary of the Book Little, Big is set in and around  the Drinkwater family’s eccentric country house called Edgewood. It is located somewhere north of "the City", suggested as New York. The story spans a century of the interconnected family trees of the Drinkwater's and their relations - from the beginning of the twentieth century to a vaguely described dystopian future America controlled by a frightening totalitarian. The glimpses of fairies are rather occasional, although their presence is strongly felt throughout the story. About John Crowley John Crowley is an American author best known for his works of fantasy, mainstream fiction, and science fiction. He has a second career as a documentary film writer. Some of his other notable works are The Deep, Beasts, Endless Things, Four Freedoms, and Somewhere to Elsewhere.
