Nishi Gupta lives in London and has a talent for getting into trouble. After a humiliating stage debacle, she starts an internship at a record label company. There she meets Mr Frederick, the godfather she has been searching for, as well as Nick Navjot Chapman, an international recording artist, who is part Indian, part Canadian, and all-round sexy. A short steamy affair, a gig on Nick’s debut album and a ticket to stardom: life changes fast for Nishi. But then the unthinkable happens and she finds herself back in India trying to build a new life in a country almost wholly unknown to her.
