This book is a personal account and tells the life story of the author, starting from his experience of being diagnosed as diabetic at age four. John Keeler takes us into the mind of someone with a potentially life-threatening condition who has learned that, despite the seemingly rather gloomy prospects, it need not exclude him from participating fully in any activity he chooses to pursue. He highlights the feelings, experiences and the (often overlooked) practical difficulties that need to be addressed in order for diabetics to live a full life. His message is positive, providing reassurance, support and advice for sufferers, their families and friends without diminishing the need for the condition to be taken seriously. About the Author John Keeler has Type 1 diabetes and a mission to inspire others who have the condition. He has had articles published regularly in Identity, magazine of the Diabetes Federation of Ireland. Also article written for Diabetes Voice, magazine of the International Diabetes Federation (Issue 3/2001 - Page 47).
